Christmas in Dubai??? so my husband and I spent xmas in Dubai last year and also two weeks of this new year. It was awesome. We arrived exhausted on the 23rd december. We didn't do much apart from checking into our hotel (Bonington Hotel in Jumeirah Lake Towers), a very gorgeous room if I do say so. We went to the Dubai Mall (huuugge mall!!!!) since we needed a forex bureau. We didn't stay long…we went with the hotel shuttle and came back with it 2 hours later. I loved the mall even though I didn't even do much window shopping.
Christmas day itself was great. We went to the Dubai mall again and got a few things. We came back to the hotel and I was tired (still jet lagged) so I decided to just stay in the room while hubby went to the bar downstairs. I watched movies and ordered room service…had a great time.
The next few days were spent exploring Dubai. We even ended up at a hospital since he got sick. After that we decided to extend our stay from two weeks to three.
New years eve was the best. We went to the Rolls Royce and Bentley showrooms (nice cars). After this we went to the mall before the roads were closed in preparation for the fireworks show later. We did some shopping and followed the thousands of other fireworks watchers outside. We got in position and had a nice view of the amazing fireworks. We concentrated on the ones from the Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world?). The logistics involved in getting it all to work without any destruction hmmm!!!!
I then spent our last week in different malls shopping. I was at the Dubai mall a lot (I still haven't seen the whole of the mall), I also went to the Mall of Emirates, Dubai Outlet Mall, Festival city (to visit IKEA). We also went to Abu Dhabi, which was really nice (can u say huge mosque?? nice thing to build in memory of the leader who united the emirates and started all the development we see today.)
I bought some clothes (for myself and family), some bags (Chanel GST, Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM in citron, DKNY cross body, Burberry cross body, Michael Kors Jet Set Macbook Travel Tote and MK Miranda bag orange and black colour block), some makeup, beauty supply and some shoes.
Dubai is a beautiful place which is very culturally heterogenous. It is a quite expensive place to shop if u ever shopped in the US but it is ok for us who live in Ghana where everything imported cost so much. I will definitely love to visit several more times (if only to see the entire Dubai Mall lol)
Here are some photos from our trip.

Dubai is a beautiful city with lots of popular attractions and this is clearly displayed in your pictures. The view of Burj Khalifa is mesmerizing. I am planning to visit Dubai at Christmas this year and I will follow your itinerary for sure. Thanks for sharing this post! And yes, you have a good choice.. Your DKNY bag looks great!
ReplyDeleteSome of my friends visited Dubai in the winters to celebrate Christmas in a never before way. I couldn’t accompany them due to personal reasons. However, we’ve planned another trip for the summers & we already applied for a Visa for Dubai. While we wait to get the visa, we’ll start preparing our travel itinerary that will include visiting the Burj Khalifa, soaking in the views of the Dubai fountain & relishing mouth-watering gastronomical delights from popular restaurants.
